JOB DESCRIPTION:

Seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, results driven Food Services General Manager 5 for the Medford School District in Medford, OR area.

Medford School District, located in the Beautiful and Active Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon is a 40 year partnership comprised of 3 High Schools, 3 Middle Schools and 13 elementary schools.  All the 80 plus nutrition services staff members are Sodexo employees, many who have been with us for their entire careers. We are seeking a leader with vision, excellent communication and collaboration skills, strong financial acumen, employee engagement mindset and someone who is not hesitant to implement change.  A valid driver’s license is required.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in food service operations, food and labor cost controls, while also having proven success in driving customer results. The ability to articulate ideas, thoughts, opinions, professionally and clearly within all levels of the organization is critical. Your success in this role will be measured by your ability to:

  • Integrate fully within our client’s organization becoming a trusted adviser and member of the account’s leadership team
  • Achieve continuous improvement in customer and client satisfaction scores
  • Create an exceptional student experience through marketing, menu design, and excellent food quality
  • Meeting (or exceeding) standards of operations (Gold Check).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs all contract management service operations at a single account/unit.
  • Plans and supervises special functions. Maintains cash control and payroll records.
  • Hires and trains unit personnel. Maintains customer satisfaction and good public relations.
  • Manages through managers and is accountable for the contract.
  • Senior-most person assigned to a one client account.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s degree
  • Basic Management Experience – 4 years
  • Basic Functional Experience – 4 years’ experience in management of school nutrition programs.

MUST HAVE:

Basic Education Requirement – Bachelor’s degree.

Experience in food service operations, food and labor cost controls execution and staff management & training.

4 years of basic Functional and Management experience.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills and strong financial acumen.

Experience in mentoring and training team members.

A valid driver’s license.
