Full-Time Senior Project Lead, Chemical Security Program (South/East Asia) or (Central Asia)
Job Description
CRDF Global seeks an experienced Senior Project Lead to manage projects in support of implementation of chemical security and counter-proliferation focused engagements under cooperative agreements program. Under the supervision of the Program Manager and in consultation with the funders and international partners, the Senior Project Lead will serve as a Regional Lead for projects in South/East/Central Asia with responsibilities to design, execute and coordinate projects at a regional level, such as workshops, trainings, conferences, technical exchanges, grant competitions, and related activities in a manner consistent with CRDF Global and funder objectives.
The ideal candidate should enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, have exceptional communication skills, experience managing staff, knowledge of chemical security and emerging threats, strong project and financial management skills, attention to detail and organizational skills, be able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, and be capable of meeting tight deadlines. The Senior Project Lead will work in the Chemical Security Program under the Security Assistance Division, which consist of a combination of Program Managers, Project Leads, Project Associates, Grant/Procurement Managers, Travel/Logistics Managers, and Interns.
ROLE DETAILS:
- Designs and executes a portfolio of assigned projects and oversees the South/East/Central Asia regional project portfolio using project management best practices that may include project scope design, communication plan, budget development and management, risk assessment and mitigation, developing monitoring and evaluation plans; uses project management tools such as charter, WBS, schedule, etc.; prepares and submits reports and proposes modifications where necessary
- Manages individual project budgets for the assigned portfolio and oversees the Asia regional project portfolio budget, including planning, administration, and financial reporting of project expenses throughout the life of the project as well as upon closeout of the project
- Participates in managing stakeholder relations and networking with funders
- Identifies strategic priorities for program growth; develops concepts or new project ideas as part of proposal development process; develops and contributes to internal and external thought leadership events
- Represents program or projects at external events as necessary, interacts with stakeholders and builds relationships
- Manages Project Leads and Project Associates in the Asia region
- Supports other programs and staff, as required
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, Master’s preferred
- 3-5+ years of relevant work experience in managing international projects
- Experienced with project management best practices and tools, strong financial management skills
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrates strong communication, diplomatic and negotiating skills and good judgment
- Solid research and writing skills
- Supervisory experience preferred
- Familiarity with other countries and cultures; knowledge of a foreign language preferred
- Prior experience with chemical/CBRN security, international security, or nonproliferation preferred
- Prior experience with remote trainings and education platforms such as Remote Learner a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and ability to work with more advanced software, such as Microsoft Project is preferred
- U.S. work authorization
MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
5 years of work experience in managing international projects
Experienced with project management best practices and tools, strong financial management skills
NICE TO HAVE:
Master Degree
Experience with remote trainings and education platforms such as Remote Learner
Experience with chemical/CBRN security, international security, or nonproliferation
