Freelance Senior Electrical Engineer
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Leading electrical system integration and verification for all or parts of electrical system of robotic medical devices
• Directly responsible for electrical analysis, design, implementation, and verification of robotic medical devices that consists of electrical hardware design and data acquisition
• Requirements and risk management for electrical system of robotic medical devices
• Ensure electrical design and documentation complies with medical safety and EMC/EMI standards
• Create documentation adhering to quality procedures, regulations, standards and industry best practices under
Design Control
• Create and execute unit and integration test plans with other engineers
• Planning and executing verification of medical devices
• Leading/supporting the creation of product verification reports
• Lead board bring-up activities and work with other engineers to insure product functionality
• Work effectively in cross-functional teams consisting of Research, Engineering, Usability, Operations, QA/RA, and Marketing
• Work closely with development teams in remote locations by interfacing with them as technical lead of electrical system
• Provide documentation of inventions for patent applications; review alternative technology as it relates to the invention
• Coaches other team members in methods for developing good product definitions
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required, Electrical Engineering preferred
• 5+ years of hands-on design experience in analog and/or digital design with excellent knowledge for circuit design and board layout
• Strong understanding of IEC 60601-1, 3.1 edition Safety and Essential performance and IEC60601-1-2 4th edition Electromagnetic disturbances
• Relevant experience in design of medical devices and product development in a FDA regulated industry
• Experience integrating, testing, and verifying complex electrical systems
• Working experience with various tools including analog simulation, schematic capture, and PCB layout
• Extensive experience working with consultants, outside partners, contract manufacturer and suppliers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly to others in different
functions and at various levels.

• Working with project execution/management tools such as MS Project
• Working on complex electromechanical medical device programs from the development through verification and validation phases
• Experience of development of a robotic control system
• Experience of development of an endoscopic device
Hybrid – This position offers a hybrid work schedule requiring you to be in the office 3 days a week and an option to work from home 2 days out of the week (unless a specific business need arises requiring in office attendance on other days). Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs.
MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
Experience in design of medical devices
5 years of hands-on design experience in analog and/or digital design with knowledge for circuit design and board layout

HYBRID WORK MODEL:
