Basic Job Functions:

The role of the Engineering & Special Projects Supervisor includes but is not limited to: monitoring contractor and engineering team’s work practices for safety and ensuring that a safe working environment exists, negotiating contract labour, directing/coordinating multiple discipline contractors to ensure budgets and schedules are met, directing and coordinating engineering team, tasks, projects, and requests, assisting the mill with CEA budgets, MOCs, and planning, and supporting all steel making processes. Candidate must be willing to work scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year Engineering Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural.
• 3 years of related engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of Steel mill or heavy industrial / construction experience.
• Capital Project Management Experience.
• Experience leading teams of multiple disciplines and projects leadership experience.

MUST HAVE

• 1+ years of Steel mill or heavy industrial / construction experience.
• Capital Project Management Experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• ROA Bonus will be provided.
• The Engineering team is made up of 11 teammates that includes electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, Power System Technicians, and a draftsman. This team is responsible for managing multiple Million dollar plus capital projects in addition to engineering support for normal operations. The Engineering Supervisor will have 5 peer supervisors in the maintenance department and can rely on them for support and sharing of resources.
