Job Description:

We are looking to expand our Sales Team with the addition of a full-time Account Manager. Account Manager responsibilities include developing long-term relationships with a robust portfolio of clients, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and serving as the primary point of contact for contract renewals and client retention. Account Managers liaise between clients and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to client needs. The focus of this role will be on building relationships with existing accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the face of the business and initial contact for clients’ questions or issues
  • Work with Senior Account Managers to enhance revenue retention and build relationships with clients – proactively identifying and taking measures to mitigate risk to ensure clients are satisfied and prepared to renew their contracts
  • Intimately understand your clients’ contracts and track renewals (including mid-term adjustments) to ensure clients are seeing a return on their investment
  • Become a deeply engaged, strategic partner to ensure accounts are being retained
  • Forecast and track key account metrics
  • Keep current clients satisfied and deliver exceptional client service daily
  • Help identify opportunities to grow and upsell current accounts
  • Engage in facetime with clients
  • Monitor and analyze clients’ usage of our product
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
  • Liaise between the client and internal teams

Qualification:

  • The candidate should be focused on maintaining and growing existing relationships vs. hunting for new clients.
  • They should have responsibilities in retention, renewals, and handling contracts. Must have experience speaking to this on their resume.
  • 1 – 3 years of proven account management.
  • A passion for growing and maintaining existing client accounts
  • Knowledge of financial markets is a must! Knowledge of Options is a plus
  • Experience working with clients in the financial industry
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines, delivering on time while prioritizing among competing tasks
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Natural relationship builder with integrity, reliability, and maturity
  • Self-motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software (Sugar CRM preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or similar major

MUST HAVE:

Junior/mid-level candidate with a few years of experience.

Financial is ideal but if they have similar experience in terms of retentions, renewals, contracts, and upselling explicitly in their responsibilities – we can look at that. Their relevant experience should be in their resumes. Ideally at least working with financial companies if they don’t come from the financial or data industries. Should be working with SaaS or a subscription type technical service.

Most of the communication  via email so the resumes need to be well-written and the candidate should be used to working with clients with less of a focus on phone calls + visits. No typos + good grammar.

Sales and Account Management is split at our company The Sales Exec hunts for and onboards new clients but then passes them to account management. Upselling and expanding business are part of the responsibilities of the AM but they don’t search for new clients.

Must be professional as our clients are usually hedge funds and investment banks.

Ideally from an environment where you can’t get in front of clients by demoing new features.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

There are 3 positions total. Same criteria for all openings. 1 is a backfill and 2 are based on company growth. Either location would be suitable.

Interview process: 20-30 min phone with HR, 30 min video with the Head of Account Management, 30-40 min video with either 2 AMs or 1 AM and 1 sales exec, final round 20-30 min video with COO
