About the Role:

Looking to hire a highly motivated Controller/Director of Finance who will play a critical role in strategic decision making and operations as the company undergoes rapid growth. The successful candidate will have a successful track record in setting priorities, as well as excellent analytic, organization and communication skills. We are a rapidly growing business with opportunity for the right candidate to continue advancing their role and responsibilities as the company grows.

Core duties and responsibilities include the following.

  • Develop timely, accurate and efficient month-end and year-end closing
  • Manage accounting functions on a day-to-day basis, including invoicing, accounts receivable,
  • accounts payable, payroll, procurement and general ledger accounting
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Manage the annual financial audit process performed by our independent CPA firm
  • Develop, maintain and enhance accounting and finance policies, processes and procedures to comply with US GAAP
  • Responsible for local, state and federal tax compliance and reporting (including payroll, property and sales and use tax compliance and reporting)
  • Develop, analyze, document and implement internal controls
  • Enhance use of software and integrate software into accounting processes and procedures
  • Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results
  • Identify financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and recommending improvements to management
  • Maintain equity management platform
  • Capital budgeting and forecasting

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business or related field
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in accounting/financial analysis, preferably within manufacturing and/or medical devices
  • Knowledge of the healthcare start-up ecosystem, including key market trends and business
    models
  • Experience with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting
  • Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Experience with ERP systems and related technology
  • Investment banking, private equity and/or corporate strategy experience
  • M&A, private/public financing experience
  • Experience working with equity management platform, such as CARTA

The candidate must be able to sit onsite from Day 1!

MUST HAVE

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
7+ years of relevant work experience in accounting/financial analysis, preferably within manufacturing and/or medical devices

Investment banking, private equity, and/or corporate strategy experience

Knowledge of the healthcare start-up ecosystem, including key market trends and business
models
M&A, private/public financing experience
Experience with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets
Experience with ERP systems and related technology

Experience working with the equity management platforms, such as CARTA
