JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • The Work Force Development Specialist plays a key role in ensuring staffing requirements are met by recruiting and selecting qualified skilled technicians to work for Helfrich Brother’s Boiler Works.
  • The Work Force Development Specialist is responsible for all aspects of staffing including recruiting skilled techs, evaluating job candidates, and building networks to attract qualified candidates.
  • In addition to recruitment, the Work Force Development Specialist is responsible for the development of Helfrich Brother’s employees including managing the Helfrich Training Center.
  • This position will have an estimated 40-50% travel required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for developing a pipeline of qualified applicants for all divisions of the company through several strategic alliances such as Trade Schools, State and Federally funded adult re-educations organizations, community centers, job fairs, unemployment agencies
  • Community outreach
  • Apprenticeship programs
  • Increase employee satisfaction
  • Responsible for coordinating Training Center in Lawrence, MA to further develop current Helfrich Brother’s employees.
  • Work with Helfrich Brother’s employees to increase employee retention and reduce turnover.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external parties to ensure staffing goals are achieved

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Advance degree preferred or multiple years of trade experience.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skills
  • Must be able to develop strong recruiting strategies
  • Must be able to identify sources and build networks
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to maintain and source through job board resume’s

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Manage recruiting: interviews, background checks, drug test, document verifications to include onboarding process.
  • Travel to trade shows / job fairs
  • Off – hour availability
  • Other duties as assigned
