Delivering on these targets will require a significant uplift in our Operational Excellence practices and the rapid embracing of Digital techniques.
The Industry 4.0 transformation has started to combine Digital, Lean and Six Sigma approaches and our first pilots are starting to demonstrate how we can improve our processes, skills, culture and technology to deliver a better customer experience, increase our internal productivity and meet our sustainability goals.
We are now looking to build a small team of Industry 4.0 Transformation Experts to bring this new approach to Operational Excellence to our global plant network.
The Industry 4.0 Transformation Expert role resides within the Corporate Operational Excellence organization and drives our transformation to Industry 4.0 Operational Excellence across our three business units over 100 plants.
The Industry 4.0 Transformation Experts will be the gatekeepers of our transformation playbook, establishing and implementing best practices for DuPont’s approach to Industry 4.0 transformation across people, processes & technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with the BU operational leadership and continuous improvement teams to define and implement the improvement roadmap for integrated supply/value chains and individual production sites
- Work with the Industry 4.0 Academy to identify and prioritize required capability building and support operations teams optimally through combined training and coaching programs
- Work closely with internal and external Industry 4.0 SMEs to continuously advance our transformation playbook
- Lead individual transformation efforts where needed and support coaches to ensure our playbook is being followed per design and delivering expected results
- Bring together plant/supply chain leadership teams, continuous improvement teams and central specialist teams to ensure that each transformation addresses the right key business objectives
- Critically review business performance and operational maturity and challenge business and operations leaders where needed
- Leverage Industry 4.0 and new technologies to enhance internal productivity and improve processes, employees and customer experience. Where appropriate, introduce new techniques and technologies to drive rapid improvements and ensure that these are brought into playbooks and trainings to guarantee continued consistency.
- Analyze site infrastructure and identify gaps in service/processes by focusing on not only increasing short-term performance, but also meeting their long-term strategic objectives.
- Work with the Operational Excellence leadership group to drive a vision for 2025 Industry 4.0 excellence and mobilize the global executive in support of this vision
- Ensure teams are leveraging both traditional and Digital tools, when appropriate, including value stream mapping, DILO, visual management, kaizen, waste identification, Kaizen improvement teams.
- Provides subject matter expert (SME) guidance in support of best practices, digital transformation and Lean/Six Sigma project activities in pursuit of continuous improvement.
- Develop capability, buy-in and support for Industry 4.0 mindset and lean culture in the organization.
- Create and sell value proposition for standardization and improvement.
- Support the building of an efficient commercial, supply chain, and manufacturing work flow and systems.
- Consulting skills: Hypothesis development, Data Collection and Analysis, Designing Models and Analytical Tools, interpreting results, Facilitation Training, Synthesis Message development and communication, Establishing & Managing relationships, Coaching.
- Identify, develop standard methodology, and help business/manufacturing site to implement external and internal supply chain best practices.
- Promote discipline using data for decisions and application of Six Sigma methodologies to implement change throughout the organization.
- Assist in gap analysis and evaluations of the capability across Integrated Operations with regard to people, processes and technologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years demonstrated experience in Manufacturing Continuous Improvement
- Demonstrated leadership experience in Lean and Six Sigma
- Demonstrated experience in Digital Transformation / Industry 4.0 tools: MES, MOM, Connectivity.
- Technical aptitude, critical thinking abilities, excellent communication skills, and adaptability
- Business / Enterprise level Project/program management experience, with demonstrated proficiency in delivering quality results on-time and in-full
- Able to demonstrate significant depth in several of the following: Continuous Improvement/Program Leadership, Change Management, Digital Transformation, Lean/Kaizen application in manufacturing and transactional, SAP/BW, Demand/Supply Planning & Scheduling
- Experience in combining Lean and Sustainability thinking
- Knowledge of Agile transformation
- External Consulting experience preferred
- Master’s degree preferred in Engineering, Supply Chain, or Information Technologies, Bachelor’s degree required
- Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt Trained and capable
- APICS CPIM or CSCP preferred
- ERP competency (SAP / Business Warehouse (BW)
